Total appearance science is a framework for understanding, measuring, predicting and controlling all aspects the appearance of products appeared to human observers. The seminar on Total Appearance Measurement (TAM) explores the technologies and standards that extend beyond color to encompass all visual attributes, including texture, gloss, and translucency. It is envisaged that future product specifications will define all perceptions using well defined psychophysical quantities.
