Safdar Muhammad

PhD Student

Profile:
Mr. Muhammad Safdar received his MSc and MPhil degrees both from Department of Electronics, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. After his Master degree he joined COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Sahiwal Campus, as Lecturer in Computer Science. He is currently a PhD student at Department of Optical Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. His research interests include color imaging science and illumination engineering.

Research Area:
Mr. Muhammad Safdar is doing PhD thesis entitle ‘Image based Methods for Measuring Appearance’. He has developed camera based methods to measure spectral reflectance, light appearance, and visual discomfort. He has developed RGB camera and LED illumination based multispectral imaging system. He used RGB camera to measure indoor light appearance and also measured absolute intensities of light using HDR imaging. He has proposed a physiology based computational model to predict visual discomfort from a luminance image of the scene. He has primarily authored 10 research papers in relation with imaging science and illumination engineering.
