Research Area: Fereshteh did her Ph.D. thesis on “Quantifying visually perceived geometric appearance attributes of automotive finishes”. She has investigated the relationship between instrumentally measured and the corresponding visually percepted specular gloss, distinctness of image and orange peel of achromatic automotive finishes. She has also developed an instrumentally based “Geometric Appearance Index” which can be employed as a stand-alone index for predicting the geometric appearance of automotive finishes in the automotive industry.
